We also (sent) Lut: He said to his people: “Do you commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? (7:80)

“For you practice your lusts on men in preference to women: you are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.” (7:81)

And his people gave no answer but this: they said, “Drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!” (7:82)

But we saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who legged behind. (7:83)

When Our messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account and felt himself powerless (to protect) them. He said: “This is a distressful day.” (11:77)

And his people came rushing towards him, and they had been long in the habit of practicing abominations. He said: “O my people! Here are my daughters: they are purer for you (if you marry)! Now fear Allah, and cover me not with shame about my guests! Is there not among you a single right-minded man?” (11:78)

They said: “Well do you know we have no need of your daughters: indeed you know quite well what we want!” (11:79)

He said: “Would that I had power to suppress you or that I could betake myself to some powerful support.” (11:80)

(The Messengers) said: “O Lut! We are Messengers from your Lord! By no means shall they reach you! Now travel with your family while yet a part of the night remains, and let not any of you look back: but your wife (will remain behind): To her will happen what happens to the people. Morning is their time appointed: Is not the morning near?” (11:81)

When Our Decrees issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer,- (11:82)

Tell them about the guests of Ibrahim. (15:51)

When they entered his presence and said, “Peace!” He said, “We feel afraid of you!” (15:52)

They said: “Fear not! We give you glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom.” (15:53)

He said: “Do you give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?” (15:54)

They said: “We give you glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!” (15:55)

He said: “And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?” (15:56)

Ibrahim said: “What then is the business on which you (have come), O you messengers (of Allah)?” (15:57)

They said: “We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin, (15:58)

“Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm)- All- (15:59)

“Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind.” (15:60)

At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, (15:61)

He said: “You appear to be uncommon folk.” (15:62)

They said: “Yes, we have come to you to accomplish that of which they doubt. (15:63)

“We have brought to you that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. (15:64)

“Then travel by night with your household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do you bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither you are ordered.” (15:65)

And We made known this decrees to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. (15:66)

The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at mews of the young men). (15:67)

Lut said: “These are my guests: disgrace me not: (15:68)

“But fear Allah, and shame me not.” (15:69)

They said: “Did we not forbid you (to speak) for all and sundry?” (15:70)

He said: “There are my daughters (to marry), if you must act (so).” (15:71)

Verily, by your life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. (15:72)

But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, (15:73)

And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. (15:74)

Behold! In this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. (15:75)

And the (cities were) right on the high-road. (15:76)

Behold! In this is a sign for those who believed. (15:77)

And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; (15:78)

So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. (15:79)

The people of Lut rejected the messengers. (26:160)

Behold, their brother Lut said to them: “Will you not fear (Allah)? (26:161)

“I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. (26:162)

“So fear Allah and obey me. (26:163)

“No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. (26:164)

“Of all the creatures in the world, will you approach males, (26:165)

“And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, you are a people transgressing (all limits)!” (26:166)

They said: “If you desist not, O Lut! you will assuredly be cast out!” (26:167)

He said: “I do detest your doings.” (26:168)

“O my Lord! Deliver me and my family from such things as they do!” (26:169)

So We delivered him and his family- all. (26:170)

Except an old woman who lingered behind. (26:171)

But the rest We destroyed utterly. (26:172)

We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! (26:173)

Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. (26:174)

And verily your Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. (26:175)

(We also sent) Lut (as a messenger): behold, He said to his people, “Do you do what is shameful though you see (its iniquity)? (27:54)

Would you really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, you are a people (grossly) ignorant! (27:55)

But his people gave no other answer but this: they said, “Drive out the followers of Lut from your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!” (27:56)

But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to be of those who lagged behind. (27:57)

And We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! (27:58)

And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: “You do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you. (29:28)

“Do you indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?” But his people gave no answer but this: they said: “Bring us the Wrath of Allah if you tell them the truth.” (29:29)

He said: “O my Lord! Help You me against people who do mischief!” (29:30)

When Our Messengers came to Ibrahim with the good news, they said: “We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime.” (29:31)

He said: “But there is Lut there.” They said: “Well do we know who is there: we will certainly save him and his following- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!” (29:32)

And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: “Fear you not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save you and your following, except your wife: she is of those who lag behind. (29:33)

“For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious.” (29:34)

And We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand. (29:35)

(Ibrahim) said: “And what, O you Messengers, is your errand (now)?” (51:31)

They said, “We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- (51:32)

“To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), (51:33)

“Marked as from your Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds.” (51:34)

Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, (51:35)

But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: (51:36)

And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. (51:37)

The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. (54:33)

We sent against them a violet Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut’s household: them We delivered by early Dawn- (54:34)

As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. (54:35)

And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. (54:36)

And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) “Now taste you My Wrath and My Warning.” (54:37)

Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: (54:38)

“So taste you My Wrath and My Warning.” (54:39)
