68. SURA AL-QALAM, Ayat- 52, Makki- 2.

বিছমিল্লা-হির রাহ’মা-নির রাহীম শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু। Bismi-LLahir-Rahmanir-Rahim In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
নূ-ন ওয়াল কালামি ওয়ামা- ইয়াছ্‌তু’রূন। নূন-শপথ কলমের এবং উহারা যাহা লিপিবদ্ধ করে তাহার, Nun. Wal-Qalami wa ma yasturun. Nun. By the Pen and the (Record) which (men) write,-	01
মা- আংতা বিনি‘মাতি রাব্বিকা বিমাজনূন। তোমার প্রতিপালকের অনুগ্রহে তুমি উন্মাদ নও। Ma ’anta bi-ni‘-mati Rabbika bi-majnun. You are not, by the Grace of your Lord, mad or possessed.	02
ওয়া ইন্না লাকা লাআজরান গাইরা মাম্‌নূন। তোমার জন্য অবশ্যই রহিয়াছে নিরবচ্ছিন্ন পুরস্কার, Wa ’inna laka la ’Ajran ghayra mamnun. Nay, verily for you is a Reward unfailing:	03
ওয়া ইন্নাকা লা‘আলা-খুলুকি’ন ‘আজীম। তুমি অবশ্যই মহান চরিত্রে অধিষ্ঠিত। Wa ’innaka la-‘ala khuluqin ‘azim. And you (stand) on an exalted standard of character.	04
ফাছাতুব্‌সিরু ওয়া ইউব্‌সিরূন। শীঘ্রই তুমি দেখিবে এবং উহারাও দেখিবে- Fasatubsiru wa yubsirun. Soon will you see, and they will see,	05
বিআইয়িকুমুল মাফ্‌তূন। তোমাদের মধ্যে কে বিকারগ্রস্ত। Bi-’ayyikumul-maftun. Which of you is afflicted with madness.	06
ইন্না রাব্বাকা হুওয়া আ‘লামু বিমাং দাল্লা ‘আং ছাবীলিহী ওয়াহুওয়া আ‘লামু বিলমুহ্‌তাদীন। তোমার প্রতিপালক তো সম্যক অবগত আছেন কে তাঁহার পথ হইতে বিচ্যুত হইয়াছে এবং তিনি সম্যক জানেন তাহাদেরকে, যাহারা সৎপথপ্রাপ্ত। ’inna Rabbaka Huwa ’a‘-lamu bimandalla ‘an Sabilih; wa Huwa ’A‘-lamu bill-Muhtadin. Verily it is your Lord that knows best, which (among men) has strayed from His Path: and He knows best those who receive (true) Guidance.	07
ফালা-তুতি ‘ইল ‍মুকায্‌’যি’বীন। সুতরাং তুমি মিথ্যাচারীদের অনুসরণ করিও না। Fala tuti-‘il-mukhadhdhibin. So hearken not to those who deny (the Truth).	08
ওয়াদ্দূ লাও তুদ্‌হিনু ফাইউদ্‌হিনূন। উহারা চায় যে, তুমি নমনীয় হও, তাহা হইলে উহারাও নমনীয় হইবে, Waddu law tudhinu fayud-hinun. Their desire is that you should be plaint: so would they be plaint.	09
ওয়ালা-তুতি ‘কুল্লা হাল্লাফিম্‌ মাহীন। এবং অনুসরণ করিও না তাহার-যে কথায় কথায় শপথ করে, যে লাঞ্ছিত, Wa la tuti‘ kulla halla-fim-mahin. Heed not the type of despicable men,- ready with oaths,	10
হাম্মা-ঝিম্‌ মাশ্‌শা-ইম বিনামীম। পশ্চাতে নিন্দাকারী, যে একের কথা অপরের নিকট লাগাইয়া বেড়ায়, Hammazim-mash-sha-’imbinamim. A slanderer, going about with calumnies,	11
মান্না-‘ইল্লিল্‌ খাইরি মু‘তাদিন আছীম। যে কল্যানের কার্যে বাধা দান করে, যে সীমালংঘনকারী, পাপিষ্ঠ, man-na-‘illil-khayri mu‘-tadin ’athim. (Habitually) hindering (all) good, transgressing beyond bounds, deep in sin,	12
‘উতুল্লিম বা‘দা যা-লিকা ঝানীম। রূঢ় স্বভাব, তদুপরি কুখ্যাত; ‘Utullim-ba‘-da dhalika zanim. Violent (and cruel)- with all that, base-born,-	13
আং কা-না যা- মা-লিওঁ ওয়া বানীন। এইজন্য যে, সে ধন-সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততিতে সমৃদ্ধিশালী। ’An-kana dha-malinw-wa banin. Because he possesses wealth and (numerous) sons.	14
ইযা-তুত্‌লা- ‘আলাইহি আ-য়া-তুনা- কা-লা আছা-তীরুল আওওয়ালীন। উহার নিকট আমার আয়াতসমূহ আবৃত্তি করা হইলে সে বলে, ‘ইহা তো সেকালের উপকথা মাত্র।’ ’Idha tut-la ‘alayhi ’A-yatuna qala ’Asatirul-’Awwalin. When to him are rehearsed Our Signs, “Tales of the ancients”, he cries!	15
ছানাছিমুহূ ‘আলাল খুরতূ’ম। আমি উহার শুঁড় দাগাইয়া দিব। Sanasimuhu ‘alal-khurtum. Soon shall We brand (the beast) on the snout!	16
ইন্না- বালাওনা-হুম কামা-বালাওনা- আসাহা-বাল জান্নাতি ইয আক’ছামূ লাইয়াসরিমুন্নাহা- মুসবিহীন। আমি উহাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করিয়াছি, যেভাবে পরীক্ষা করিয়াছিলাম উদ্যান-অধিপতিগণকে, যখন উহারা শপথ করিয়াছিল যে, উহারা প্রত্যূষে আহরণ করিবে বাগানের ফল, ’Inna balawnahum kama balawna ’As-habal-Jannah, ’idh ’aqsamu layas-rimunnaha musbihin. Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning.	17
ওয়ালা-ইয়াছতাছ’নূন। এবং তাহারা ‘ইন্‌শাআল্লাহ্‌’ বলে নাই। Wa la yastath-nun. But made no reservation, (“If it be Allah’s Will”).	18
ফাতা-ফা ‘আলাইহা- তা-ইফুম্‌ মির্‌রাব্বিকা ওয়া হুম না-ইমূন। অতঃপর তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে এক বিপর্যয় হানা দিল সেই উদ্যানে, যখন উহারা ছিল নিদ্রিত। Fatafa ‘alayha ta-’ifum-mir-Rabbika wa hum na-’imun. Then there came on the (garden) a visitation from your Lord, (which swept away) all around, while they were asleep.	19
ফাআসবাহাত কাসসারীম। ফলে উহা দগ্ধ হইয়া কৃষ্ণবর্ণ ধারণ করিল। Fa-’asbahat kas-sarim. So the (garden) became, by the morning, like a dark and desolate spot, (whose fruit had been gathered).	20
ফাতানা-দাও মুসবিহীন। প্রত্যূষে উহারা একে অপরকে ডাকিয়া বলিল, Fatanadaw-musbihin. As the morning broke, they called out, one to another,-	21
আনিগ্‌দূ ‘আলা-হারছি’কুম ইং কুংতুম সা-রিমীন। ‘তোমরা যদি ফল আহরণ করিতে চাও তবে সকাল সকাল বাগানে চল।’ ’Anigh-du ‘ala harthikum ’in-kuntum sarimin. “You go to your tilth (early) in the morning, if you would gather the fruits.”	22
ফাংতালাকূ ওয়া হুম ইয়াতাখা-ফাতূন। অতঃপর উহারা চলিল নিম্নস্বরে কথা বলিতে বলিতে, Fantalaqu wa hum yatakhafatun. So they departed, conversing in secret low tones, (saying)-	23
আল্লা-ইয়াদ্‌খুলান্নাহাল ইয়াওমা ‘আলাইকুম মিছকীন। ‘অদ্য যেন তোমাদের নিকটে কোন অভাবগ্রস্ত ব্যক্তি উহাতে প্রবেশ করিতে না পারে।’ ’Alla yad khulannahal-yawma ‘alaykum-miskin. “Let not a single indigent person break in upon you into the (garden) this day.”	24
ওয়া গাদাও ‘আলা- হার্‌দিং কা- দিরীন। অতঃপর উহারা নিবৃত্ত করিতে সক্ষম-এই বিশ্বাস লইয়া প্রভাতকালে বাগানে যাত্রা করিল। Wa ghadaw ‘ala hardin-qadirin. And they opened the morning, strong in an (unjust) resolve.	25
ফালাম্মা- রআওহা-কা-লূ- ইন্না-লাদা-ল্‌লূন। অতঃপর উহারা যখন বাগানের অবস্থা প্রত্যক্ষ করিল, তখন বলিল, ‘আমরা তো দিশা হারাইয়া ফেলিয়াছি। Falamma ra-’awha qa-lu ’inna ladallun. But when they saw the (garden), they said: “We have surely lost our way:	26
বাল নাহ্‌’নূ মাহ’রূমূন। ‘বরং আমরা তো বঞ্চিত।’ Bal nahnu mahrumun. “Indeed we are shut out (of the fruits of our labor)!”	27
কা-লা আওছাতু’হুম আলাম আকু’ল্লাকুম লাওলা-তুছাব্বিহূ’ন। উহাদের শ্রেষ্ঠ ব্যক্তি বলিল, ‘আমি কি তোমাদেরকে বলি নাই? এখনও তোমরা আল্লাহ্‌র পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করিতেছ না কেন?’ Qa la-’awsatuhum ’alam ’aqul-lakum law la tusabbihun. Said one of them, more just (than the rest): “Did I not say to you, Why not glorify (Allah)?”	28
কা-লূ ছুব্‌হা-না রাব্বিনা-ইন্না-কুন্না- জা-লিমীন। তখন উহারা বলিল, ‘আমরা আমাদের প্রতিপালকের পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করিতেছি, আমরা তো সীমালংঘনকারী ছিলাম।’ Qalu Subhana Rabbina ’inna kunna zalimin. They said: “Glory to our Lord! Verily we have been doing wrong!”	29
ফাআক’বালা বা‘দু’হুম ‘আলা-বা‘দি’ইঁ ইয়াতালা-ওয়ামূন। অতঃপর উহারা একে অপরের প্রতি দোষারোপ করিতে লাগিল। Fa ’aqbala ba‘-duhum ‘ala ba‘-diny-yatalaqamum. Then they turned, one against another, in reproach.	30
কা-লূ ইয়া- ওয়াইলানা- ইন্না-কুন্না-তা-গীন। উহারা বলিল, ‘হায়, দুর্ভোগ আমাদের! আমরা তো ছিলাম সীমালংঘনকারী। Qalu ya-waylana ’inna kunna taghin. They said: “Alas for us! We have indeed transgressed!	31
‘আছা-রাব্বুনা- আইঁ ইউব্‌দিলানা-খাইরাম্‌ মিনহা-ইন্না- ইলা-রাব্বিনা-রা-গিবূন। সম্ভবত আমাদের প্রতিপালক ইহা হইতে আমাদেরকে উৎকৃষ্টতর বিনিময় দিবেন, আমরা আমাদের প্রতিপালকের অভিমুখী হইলাম।’ ’Asa Rabbuna ’any yubdilana khay-ram-minha ’inna ’ila Rabbina raghibun. “It may be that our Lord will give us in exchange a better (garden) than this: for we do turn to Him (in repentance)!”	32
কাযা-লিকাল ‘আযা-বু ওয়ালা‘আযা-বুল আ-খিরাতি আকবারু। লাও কা-নূ ইয়া‘লামূন। শাস্তি এইরূপই হইয়া থাকে এবং আখিরাতের শাস্তি কঠিনতর। যদি উহারা জানিত। kadhalikal-‘Adhab; wa la-‘Adhabul-’Akhirati ’akbar. law kanu ya‘-lamun. Such is the Punishment (in this life); but greater is the Punishment in the Hereafter,- if only they knew!	33
ইন্না লিল্‌মুত্তাকীনা ‘ইংদা রাব্বিহিম জান্না-তিন্‌ না‘ঈম। মুত্তাকীদের জন্য অবশ্যই রহিয়াছে ভোগ-বিলাসপূর্ণ জান্নাত তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট। ’Inna lil-Muttaqina ‘inda Rabbihim Jannatin-Na‘im. Verily, for the Righteous, are Gardens of Delight, with their Lord.	34
আফানাজ‘আলুল মুছ্‌লিমীনা কালমুজরিমীন। আকি কি আত্মসমর্পণ-কারীদেরকে অপরাধীদের সমতুল্য গণ্য করিব? ’Afanaj-‘alul-Muslimina kal-mujrimin. Shall We then treat the People of Faith like the People of Sin?	35
মা-লাকুম কাইফা তাহ’কুমূন। তোমাদের কী হইয়াছে, তোমরা এ কেমন সিদ্ধান্ত দিতেছ? Ma lakum kayfa tahkumun. What is the matter with you? How judge you?	36
আম লাকুম কিতা-বুং ফীহি তাদরুছূন। তোমাদের নিকট কী কোন কিতাব আছে যাহাতে তোমরা অধ্যয়ন কর- ’am lakum kitabun-fihi tadrusum. Or have you a book through which you learn-	37
ইন্না লাকুম ফীহি লামা- তাখাইইয়ারূন। যে, তোমাদের জন্য উহাতে রহিয়াছে যাহা তোমরা পসন্দ কর? ’Inna lakum fihi lama takhayyarun. That you shall have, through it whatever you choose?	38
আম লাকুম আইমা-নুন ‘আলাইনা- বা-লিগাতুন ইলা-ইয়াওমিল কি’য়া-মাতি ইন্না লাকুম লামা-তাহ’কুমূন। তোমাদের কি আমার সঙ্গে কিয়ামত পর্যন্ত বলবৎ এমন কোন অঙ্গীকার রহিয়াছে যে, তোমরা নিজেদের জন্য যাহা স্থির করিবে তাহাই পাইবে? ’Am lakum ’Aymanun ‘alayna balighatun ’ila Yaw-mil-Qiyamati ’inna lakum lama tahkumun. Or have you Covenants with us to oath, reaching to the Day of Judgment, (providing) that you shall have whatever you shall demand?	39
ছাল্‌হুম আইয়ুহুম বিযা-লিকা ঝা‘ঈম। তুমি উহাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর উহাদের মধ্যে এই দাবির যিম্মাদার কে? Sal-hum ’ayyuhum-bi-dhalika za‘im. Ask you of them, which of them will stand surety for that!	40
আম লাহুম শুরাকা-উ ফালইয়া‘তূ বিশুরাকা-ইহিম ইং কা-নূ সা-দিকীন। উহাদের কি কোন দেব-দেবী আছে? থাকিলে উহারা উহাদের দেব-দেবীগুলিকে উপস্থিত করুক-যদি উহারা সত্যবাদী হয়। ’Am lahum shuraka-’u fal-ya’tu bi-shuraka’ihim-’in-kanu sadiqin. Or have they some “Partners” (in Godhead)? Then let them produce their “partners”, if they are truthful!	41
ইয়াওমা ইউক্‌শাফূ ‘আং ছা-কি’ওঁ ওয়াইউদ‘আওনা ইলাছ্‌ছুজূদি ফালা-ইয়াছতাতী‘ঊন। স্মরণ কর সেই দিনের কথা, যেদিন পায়ের গোছা উন্মোচিত করা হইবে, সেই দিন উহাদেরকে আহ্‌বান করা হইবে সিজ্‌দা করিবার জন্য কিন্তু উহারা সক্ষম হইবে না; Yawma yuk-shafu ‘an-saqinw-wa yud-‘awna ’ilas-sujudi fala yasta-ti‘un. They Day that the skin shall be laid bare, and they shall be summoned to bow in adoration, but they shall not be able-	42
খা-শি‘আতান আব্‌সা-রুহুম তার্‌হাকু’হুম যি’ল্লাতুওঁ ওয়াকাদ কা-নূ ইউদ‘আওনা ইলাছ্‌ছুজূদি ওয়াহুম ছা-লিমূন। উহাদের দৃষ্টি অবনত, হীনতা উহাদেরকে আচ্ছন্ন করিবে অথচ যখন উহারা নিরাপদ ছিল তখন তো উহাদেরকে আহ্‌বান করা হইয়াছিল সিজ্‌দা করিতে। khashi-‘atan ’absaruhum tarhaquhum dhillah; wa qad kanu yud-‘awna ’ilas-sujudi wa hum salimun. Their eyes will be cast down,- ignominy will cover them; seeing that they had been summoned aforetime to bow in adoration while they were whole, (and had refused).	43
ফাযারনী ওয়া মাইঁ ইউকায্‌’যি’বু বিহা-যাল হাদীছি ছানাছ্‌তাদ্‌রিজুহুম মিন হাইছু লা- ইয়া‘লামূন। ছাড়িয়া দাও আমাকে এবং যাহারা এই বাণীকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে তাহাদেরকে, আমি উহাদেরকে ক্রমে ক্রমে ধরিব এমনভাবে যে, উহারা জানিতে পারিবে না। Fadharni wa many-yukadh-dhibu bi-hadhal-Hadith; sanas-tadrijuhum min haythu la ya‘-lamun. Then leave Me alone with such as reject this Message: by degrees shall We punish them from directions they perceive not.	44
ওয়া উম্‌লী লাহুম ইন্না কাইদী মাতীন। আর আমি উহাদেরকে সময় দিয়া থাকি, নিশ্চয়ই আমার কৌশল অত্যন্ত বলিষ্ঠ। wa ’umli lahum; ’inna kaydi matin. A (long) respite will I grant them: truly powerful is My Plan.	45
আম তাছআলুহুম আজরাং ফাহুম মিম্‌ মাগ্‌রামিম্‌ মুছ’কালূন। তুমি কি উহাদের নিকট পারিশ্রমিক চাহিতেছ যে, তাহা উহাদের কাছে দুর্বহ দন্ড মনে হয়? ’Am tas-’aluhum ’ajran-fa-hum-min maghramim-muthqalun. Or is it that you do ask them for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?-	46
আম ‘ইংদাহুমুল্‌ গাইবু ফাহুম ইয়াকতুবূন। উহাদের কি অদৃশ্যের জ্ঞান আছে যে, উহারা তাহা লিখিয়া রাখে। ’Am ‘indahumul-Gaybu fahum yaktubun. Or that the unseen is in their hands, so that they can write it down?	47
ফাসবির লিহু’ক্‌মি রাব্বিকা ওয়ালা-তাকুং কাসা-হি’বিল হূ’ত্‌। ইয্‌ না-দা- ওযা হুওয়া মাক্‌জূ’ম। অতএব তুমি ধৈর্য ধারণ কর তোমার প্রতিপালকের নির্দেশের অপেক্ষায়, তুমি মৎস্য- সহচরের ন্যায় অধৈর্য হইও না, সে বিষাদ-আচ্ছন্ন অবস্থায় কাতর প্রার্থনা করিয়াছিল। Fasbir li-Hukmi Rabbika wa la takum-ka-Sahibil-Hut. ’Idh nada wa huwa mak-zum. So wait with patience for the Command of your Lord, and be not like the Companion of the Fish- when he cried out in agony.	48
লাওলা- আং তাদা-রাকাহূ নি‘মাতুম্‌ মির্‌রাব্বিহী লানুবিযা বিল‘আরা-ই ওযা হুওয়া মায্‌’মূম। তাহার প্রতিপালকের অনুগ্রহ তাহার নিকট না পৌঁছিলে সে লাঞ্ছিত হইয়া নিক্ষিপ্ত হইত উন্মুক্ত প্রান্তরে। Law la ’an-tadarakahu Ni‘-matum-mir-Rabbihi lanubidha bil-‘ara-’i wa huwa madhmum. Had not Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been cast off on the naked shore, in disgrace.	49
ফাজতাবা-হু রাব্বুহূ ফাজা‘আলাহূ মিনাসসা-লিহীন। পুনরায় তাহার প্রতিপালক তাহাকে মনোনীত করিলেন এবং তাহাকে সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করিলেন। Fajtabahu Rabbuhu fa-ja-‘alahu minas-Salihin. Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of the Righteous.	50
ওয়া ইয়ঁ ইয়াকা- দুল্লাযীনা কাফারূ লাইউঝলিকূ’নাকা বিআব্‌সা-রিহিম লাম্মা-ছামি‘উয’যি’ক্‌রা ওয়া ইয়াকূ’লূনা ইন্নাহূ লামাজনূন। কাফিররা যখন কুরআন শ্রবণ করে তখন উহারা যেন উহাদের তীক্ষ্ণ দৃষ্টি দ্বারা তোমাকে আছড়াইয়া ফেলিবে এবং বলে, ‘এ তো এক পাগল!’ Wa ’iny yakadulladhina kafaru layuz-liqunaka bi-’absarihim lamma sami-‘udh-Dhikra wa yaquluna ’inahu-la-majnun. And the unbelievers would almost trip you up with their eyes when they hear the Message; and they say: “Surely he is possessed!”	51
ওয়ামা-হুওয়া ইল্লা- যি’ক্‌রুল্লিল‘আ-লামীন। কুরআন তো বিশ্বজগতের জন্য উপদেশ। wa ma huwa ’illa Dhikrul-lil-‘Alamin. But it is nothing less than a Message to all the worlds.	52
