আল্‌হা-ক্কাহ।

সেই অবশ্যম্ভাবী ঘটনা,

’Al-HAQQATU

The Sure Reality!

মাল হা-ক্কাহ্‌।

কী সেই অবশ্যম্ভাবী ঘটনা?

Mal-Haqqah

What is the Sure Reality?

ওয়ামা- আদ্‌রা-কা মাল হা-ক্কাহ্‌।

আর তুমি কি জান সেই অবশ্যম্ভাবী ঘটনা কী?

Wa ma ’adraka mal Haqqah.

And what will make you realize what the Sure Reality is?

কায’যাবাত ছামূদু ওয়া ‘আ-দুম বিল কা-রি‘আহ।

আদ ও সামূদ সম্প্রদায় অস্বীকার করিয়াছিল মহাপ্রলয়।

kadhdhabat Thamudu wa ‘Adum-bil-Qari‘ah.

The Thamud and the ‘Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity!

ফাআম্মা-ছামূদু ফাউহ্‌লিকূ বিত্তা-গিয়াহ্‌।

আর সামূদ সম্প্রদায়, উহাদেরকে ধ্বংস করা হইয়াছিল এক প্রলয়ংকর বিপর্যয় দ্বারা।

Fa-’amma Thamudu fa-’uhliku bit-Taghiyah.

But the Thamud- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning!

ওয়া আম্মা- ‘আ-দুং ফাউহ্‌লিকূ বিরীহিং সারসারিন ‘আ-তিয়াহ।

আর ‘আদ সম্প্রদায়, উহাদেরকে ধ্বংস করা হইয়াছিল এক প্রচন্ড ঝঞ্ঝাবায়ু দ্বারা,

Wa ’amma ‘Adun-fa-’uhliku bi-Rihin-sarsarin ‘atiyah.

And the ‘Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent;

ছাখ্‌খারাহা-‘আলাইহিম ছাব‘আ লাইয়া-লিওঁ ওয়া ছামা-নিয়াতা আইইয়া-মিন হু’ছূমাং ফাতারাল কাওমা ফীহা-সার্‌‘আ- কাআন্নাহুম আ‘জা-ঝু নাখলিন খা-বি’য়াহ।

যাহা তিনি উহাদের উপর প্রবাহিত করিয়াছিলেন সপ্তরাত্রি ও অষ্টদিবস বিরামহীনভাবে; তখন তুমি উক্ত সম্প্রদায়কে দেখিতে-উহারা সেখানে লুটাইয়া পড়িয়া আছে সারশূন্য খর্জুর কান্ডের ন্যায়।

Sakh-kharaha ‘alayhim sab-‘a layalinw wa thama-niyata ’ayyamin husuman-fataral-qawma fiha sar-‘a ka-’annahum ’a‘-jazu nakhlin kha wiyah.

He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that you could see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!

ফাহাল তারা-লাহুম মিম বা-কি’য়াহ।

অতঃপর উহাদের কাহাকেও তুমি বিদ্যমান দেখিতে পাও কি?

Fahal tara lahum-mim-baqiyah.

Then see you any of them left surviving?

ওয়া জা-আ ফির‘আওনু ওয়া মাং কালাহূ ওয়াল মুতাফিকা-তু বিল খা- তি’আহ।

ফির‘আওন, তাহার পূর্ববর্তীরা এবং উল্টাইয়া দেওয়া জনপদ পাপাচারে লিপ্ত ছিল।

Wa ja-’a Fir-‘awnu wa man qablahu wal-mu’-tafikatu bil-khati-’ah.

And Fir‘awn, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin.

ফা‘আসাও রাছূলা রাব্বিহিম ফাআখাযাহুম আখযাতার্‌রা-বিয়াহ।

উহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের রাসূলকে অমান্য করিয়াছিল, ফলে তিনি উহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিলেন-কঠোর শাস্তি।

Fa-‘asaw rasula Rabbihim fa-‘akhadhahum ’akhdhatar-rabiyah.

And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty.

ইন্না- লাম্মা-তাগাল্‌মা-উ হামালনা-কুম ফিল জা-রিয়াহ।

যখন জলোচ্ছ্বাস হইয়াছিল তখন আমি তোমাদের-কে আরোহণ করাইয়াছিলাম নৌযানে,

’Inna lamma taghal-ma’u hamalnakum fil-jariyah.

We, when the water (of Nuh’s Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark),

লিনাজ‘আলাহা-লাকুম তায’কিরাতাওঁ ওয়া তা‘ইয়াহা-উযু’নুওঁ ওয়া-‘ইয়াহ।

আমি ইহা করিয়াছিলাম তোমাদের শিক্ষার জন্য এবং এইজন্য যে, শ্রুতিধর কর্ণ ইহা সংরক্ষণ করে।

Linaj-‘alaha lakum Tadh kiratanw-wa ta-‘iyaha ’udhu-nunw-wa-‘iyah.

That We might make it a Message to you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.

ফাইযা- নুফিখা ফিস্‌সুরি নাফখাতুওঁ ওয়া-হি’দাহ।

যখন শিঙ্গায় ফুৎকার দেওয়া হইবে-একটি মাত্র ফুৎকার,

Fa-’idha nufikha fis-Suri naf-khatunw-wahidah.

Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet,

ওয়া হু’মিলাতিন আরদু ওয়াল জিবা-লু ফাদুক্কাতা- দাক্কাতাওঁ ওয়া-হি’দাহ।

পর্বতমালাসমেত পৃথিবী উৎক্ষিপ্ত হইবে এবং মাত্র এক ধাক্কায় উহারা-চূর্ণ-বিচূর্ণ হইয়া যাইবে।

Wa humilatil ’ardu wal jibalu fadukkata dakkatanw-wahidah.

And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke-

ফাইয়াওমাইযি’ওঁ ওয়াকা‘আতিল ওয়া-কি ‘আহ।

সেদিন সংঘটিত হইবে মহাপ্রলয়,

Fa yawma-’idhinw-waqa-‘atil-Waqi‘ah.

On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass.

ওয়াংশাক্কাতিছ্‌ছামা-উ ফাহিয়া ইয়াওমাইযি’ওঁ ওয়া-হিয়াহ।

এবং আকাশ বিদীর্ণ হইয়া যাইবে আর সেই দিন উহা বিক্ষিপ্ত হইয়া পড়িবে।

Wan-shaqqatis sama-’u fahiya Yawma-’idhinw-wa-hiyah.

And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,

ওয়াল মালাকু ‘আলা- আরজা-ইহা-ওয়া ইয়াহ’মিলু ‘আর্‌শা রাব্বিকা ফাওকাহুম ইয়াওমাইযিং ছামা-নিয়াহ।

ফিরিশ্‌তাগণ আকাশের প্রাপ্তদেশে থাকিবে এবং সেই দিন আটজন ফিরিশ্‌তা তোমার প্রতিপালকের আরশকে ধারণ করিবে তাহাদের ঊর্ধ্বে।

wal-malaku ‘ala ’arja ’iha wa yahmilu ‘Arsha Rabbika fawqahum Yawma-’idhin-thamaniyah.

And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them.

ইয়াওমাইযিং তু‘রাদূ’না লা-তাখফা-মিংকুম খা-ফিয়াহ।

সেই দিন উপস্থিত করা হইবে তোমাদেরকে এবং তোমাদের কিছুই গোপন থাকিবে না।

Yawma-’idhin-tu‘-raduna la takhfa minkum khafiyah.

That Day shall you be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that you hide will be hidden.

ফাআম্মা-মান ঊতিয়া কিতা-বাহূ বিইয়ামীনিহী ফাইয়াকূ’লু হা-উমুক্‌’রাঊ কিতা-বিয়াহ।

তখন যাহাকে তাহার ‘আমলনামা তাহার দক্ষিণ হস্তে দেওয়া হইবে, সে বলিবে, ‘লও, আমার ‘আমলনামা, পড়িয়া দেখ;

Fa’-amma man ’utiya litabahu bi-yaminihi fa-yaqulu ha-’u-muq-ra-u’ Kitabiyah.

Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: “Ah here! Read you my Record!

ইন্নী জানাংতু আন্নী মুলা-কি’ন হি’ছা-বিয়াহ।

‘নিশ্চয়ই আমি জানিতাম যে, আমাকে আমার হিসাবের সম্মুখীন হইতে হইবে।’

’Inni-zanatu ’anni mulaqin Hisabiyah.

“I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!”

ফাহুওয়া ফী ‘ঈশাতির্‌রা-দি’য়াহ।

সুতরাং সে যাপন করিবে সন্তোষজনক জীবন;

Fa-huwa fi ‘ishatir-ra-diyah.

And he will be in a life of Bliss,

ফী জান্নাতিন ‘আ-লিয়াহ।

সুউচ্চ জান্নাতে-

Fi Jannatin ‘aliyah.

In a Garden on high,

কুতূ’ফুহা-দা-নিয়াহ।

যাহার ফলরাশি অবনমিত থাকিবে নাগালের মধ্যে।

Qutufuha daniyah

The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near.

কুলূ ওয়াশ্‌রাবূ হানী-আম্‌ বিমা- আছলাফ্‌তুম ফিল আইয়া-মিল খা-লিয়াহ।

তাহাদেরকে বলা হইবে, ‘পানাহার কর তৃপ্তির সঙ্গে, তোমরা অতীত দিনে যাহা করিয়াছিলে তাহার বিনিময়ে।’

kulu wash-rabu hani-’am-bima ’aslaftum fil-’ayyamil-khaliyah.

“Eat you and drink you, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that you sent before you, in the days are gone!”

ওয়া আম্মা-মান ঊতিয়া কিতা-বাহূ বিশিমা-লিহী ফাইয়াকূ’লু ইয়া- লাইতানী লাম ঊতা কিতা-বিয়াহ।

কিন্তু যাহার ‘আমলনামা তাহার বাম হস্তে দেওয়া হইবে, সে বলিবে, ‘হায়! আমাকে যদি দেওয়াই না হইত আমার ‘আমলনামা,

Wa ’amma man ’utiya kitabahu bi-shimalihi fa-yaqulu ya-laytani lam ’uta Kitabiyah

And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: “Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!

ওয়া লাম আদ্‌রি মা-হি’ছা-বিয়াহ।

‘এবং আমি যদি না জানিতাম আমার হিসাব!

Wa lam ’ardi ma hisa-biyah

“And that I had never realized how my account (stood)!

ইয়া-লাইতাহা-কা-নাতিল্‌ কা-দি’য়াহ।

‘হায়! আমার মৃত্যুই যদি আমার শেষ হইত।

Ya-laytaha kanatil-qadiyah.

“Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me!

মা- আগনা- ‘আন্নী মা-লিয়াহ।

‘আমার ধন-সম্পদ আমার কোন কাজেই আসিল না।

Ma ’aghna ‘anni ma-liyah.

“Of no profit to me has been my wealth!

হালাকা ‘আন্নী ছুলতা-নিয়াহ।

‘আমার ক্ষমতাও বিনষ্ট হইয়াছে।’

Halaka ‘anni sul-taniyah.

“My power has perished from me!”…

খুযূ’হু ফাগুল্লূহ।

ফিরিশ্‌তাদেরকে বলা হইবে, ‘ধর উহাকে, উহার গলদেশে বেড়ি পরাইয়া দাও।

Khudhuhu fadhulluh.

(The stern command will say): “Seize you him, and bind you him,

ছু’ম্মাল জাহীমা সাল্লূহ।

‘অতঃপর উহাকে নিক্ষেপ কর জাহান্নামে।

Thummal-Jahima salluh.

“And burn you him in the Blazing Fire.

ছু’ম্মা ফী ছিলছিলাতিং যার‘উহা- ছাব‘ঊনা যি’রা-‘আং ফাছলুকূহ।

‘পুনরায় তাহাকে শৃক্মখলিত কর সত্তর হস্ত দীর্ঘ এক শৃক্মখলে’,

Thumma fi sil-silatin-dhar-‘uha sab-‘una dhira-‘an faslu-kuh.

“Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits!

ইন্নাহূ কা-না লা-ইউ’মিনু বিল্লা-হিল ‘আজীম।

সে তো মহান আল্লাহ্‌র প্রতি বিশ্বাসী ছিল না,

’Innahu kana la yu’-minu bi-LLahil-‘Azimi

“This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High.

ওয়ালা-ইয়াহ’দ্দু ‘আলা- তা‘আ-মিল্‌ মিছকীন।

এবং অভাবগ্রস্তকে অন্নদানে উৎসাহিত করিত না,

wa la yahuddu ‘ala ta-‘amil-miskin.

“And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent!

ফালাইছা লাহুল ইয়াওমা হা-হুনা-হামীম।

অতএব এই দিন সেখানে তাহার কোন সুহৃদ থাকিবে না,

Falaysa lahul-Yawma ha-huna hamim.

“So no friend has he here this Day.

ওয়ালা- তা‘আ-মুন ইল্লা-মিন গিছলীন।

এবং কোন খাদ্য থাকিবে না ক্ষতনিঃসৃত পুঁজ ব্যতীত,

Wa la ta-‘amun ’illa min ghislin.

“Nor has he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds,

লা-ইয়া‘কুলুহূ-ইল্লাল খা-তি’ঊন।

যাহা অপরাধী ব্যতীত কেহ খাইবে না।

La ya’-kuluhu ’illalkhati-’un.

“Which none do eat but those in sin.”

ফালা-উক’ছিমু বিমা-তুবসিরূন।

আমি কসম করিতেছি উহার, যাহা তোমরা দেখিতে পাও,

Fala’uqsimu bima tubsirun.

So I do call to witness what you see.

ওয়ালা-লা-তুবসিরূন।

এবং যাহা তোমরা দেখিতে পাও না;

wa ma la tubsirun.

And what you see not,

ইন্নাহূ লাকাওলু রাছূলিং কারীম।

নিশ্চয়ই এই কুরআন এক সম্মানিত রাসূলের বহনকৃত বার্তা।

’Innahu la-qawlu Rasulin-karim.

That this is verily the word of an honored Messenger;

ওয়ামা-হুওয়া বিকাওলি শা-‘ইরিং কালীলাম্‌ মা-তু’মিনূন।

ইহা কোন কবির রচনা নয়; তোমরা অল্পই বিশ্বাস কর,

Wa ma huwa bi-qawli sha-‘ir; qalilamma tu’-minun.

It is not the word of a poet: little it is you believe!

ওয়ালা-বিকাওলি কা-হিনিং কালীলাম্‌ মা-তাযাক্কারূন।

ইহা কোন গণকের কথাও নয়, তোমরা অল্পই অনুধাবন কর।

wa la bi-qawli-kahin; qalilam-ma tadhakkarun.

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is you receive.

তাংঝীলুম্‌ মির্‌রাব্বিল ‘আ-লামীন।

ইহা জগতসমূহের প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে অবতীর্ণ।

Tanzilum-mir-Rabbil-‘Alamin.

(This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds.

ওয়ালাও তাকাওওয়ালা ‘আলাইনা-বা‘দাল আকা-বীল।

সে যদি আমার নামে কোন কথা রচনা করিয়া চালাইতে চেষ্টা করিত,

wa law taqawwala ‘alayna ba‘-dal-’aqawil.

And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name,

লাআখায্‌’না-মিনহু বিলইয়ামীন।

আমি অবশ্যই তাহার দক্ষিণ হস্ত ধরিয়া ফেলিতাম,

La ’akhadhna minhu bil-yamin.

We should certainly seize him by his right hand,

ছু’ম্মা লাকাতা‘না-মিনহুল ওয়াতীন।

এবং কাটিয়া দিতাম তাহার জীবন-ধমনী,

Thumma laqata‘-na minhul-watin.

And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart:

ফামা-মিংকুম মিন আহাদিন ‘আনহু হা-জিঝীন।

অতঃপর তোমাদের মধ্যে এমন কেহই নাই, যে তাহাকে রক্ষা করিতে পারে।

Fama minkum-min ’ahadin ‘anhu hajizin.

Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath).

ওয়া ইন্নাহূ লাতায্‌’কিরাতুল্‌ লিলমুত্তাকীন।

এই কুরআন মুত্তাকীদের জন্য অবশ্যই এক উপদেশ।

Wa ’innahu la-Tadhliratul-lil-Muttaqin.

But verily this is a Message for the Allah-fearing.

ওয়া ইন্না-লানা‘লামু আন্না মিংকুম্‌ মুকায’যি’বীন।

আমি অবশ্যই জানি যে, তোমাদের মধ্যে মিথ্যা আরোপকারী রহিয়াছে।

wa ’inna lana-lamu ’anna minkum-mukadh-dhibin.

And We certainly know that there are amongst you those that reject (it).

ওয়া ইন্নাহূ লাহাছরাতুন ‘আলাল কা-ফিরীন।

এবং এই কুরআন নিশ্চয়ই কাফিরদের অনুশোচনার কারণ হইবে,

wa ’innahu la-hasatun ‘alal-kafirin.

But truly (Revelation) is a cause of sorrow for the Unbelievers.

ওয়া ইন্নাহূ লাহাক্কু’ল ইয়াকীন।

অবশ্যই ইহা নিশ্চিত সত্য।

Wa ’innahu la Haqqul yaqin.

But verily it is Truth of assured certainly.

ফাছাব্বিহ বিছমি রাব্বিকাল ‘আজীম।

অতএব তুমি মহান প্রতিপালকের নামের পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা কর।

Fasabbih bismi Rabbikal-‘Azim.

So glorify the name of your Lord Most High.
