বিছমিল্লা-হির রাহ’মা-নির রাহীম

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু।

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

ছাব্বাহা লিল্লা-হি মা- ফিছ্‌ ছামা-ওয়া-তি ওয়াল আর্‌দি ওয়া হুওয়াল্‌ ‘আঝীঝুল হাকীম।

আকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবীতে যাহা কিছু আছে সবই আল্লাহ্‌র পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করে। তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

Sabbaha li-LLahi ma fis-samawati wal-’ard; wa Huwal-‘Azizul-Hakim.

Whatever is in the heavens and on earth,- let it declare the Praises and Glory of Allah: for He is the Exalted in Might, and Wise.

লাহূ মুল্‌কুছ্ ছামা-ওয়া-তি ওয়াল আর্‌দি ইউহ’ঈ ওয়া ইউমীতু ওয়া হুওয়া ‘আলা- কুল্লি শাইয়িং কাদীর।

আকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর সর্বময় কর্তৃত্ব তাঁহারই; তিনি জীবন দান করেন ও মৃত্যু ঘটান; তিনি সর্ববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।

Lahu Mulkus-samawati wal-’ard; yah-yi wa yumit; wa Huwa ‘ala kulli shay-’in-Qadir.

To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He Who gives Life and Death; and He has Power over all things.

হুওয়াল্‌ আওওয়ালু ওয়াল্‌ আ-খিরু ওয়াজ্জা-হিরু ওয়াল্‌ বা-তি’নু ওয়া হুওয়া বিকুল্লি শাইয়িন্‌ ‘আলীম।

তিনিই আদি, তিনিই অন্ত; তিনিই ব্যক্ত ও তিনিই গুপ্ত এবং তিনি সর্ববিষয়ে সম্যক অবহিত।

Huwal-’Awwalu wal-’Akhiru waz-Zahiru wal-Batin; wa Huwa bi-kulli shay-’in ‘Alim.

He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has Full Knowledge of all things.

হুওয়াল্লাযী খালাকাছ্‌ ছামা-ওয়া-তি ওয়াল আর্‌দা ফী ছিত্তাতি আইয়া-মিং ছু’ম্মাছ্‌তাওয়া- ‘আলাল্‌ ‘আর্‌শি ইয়া‘লামু মা- ইয়ালিজূ ফিল্‌ আর্‌দি ওয়ামা- ইয়াখরুজূ মিন্‌হা- ওয়ামা- ইয়াংঝিলু মিনাছ্‌ ছামা-ই ওয়ামা- ওয়া‘রুজূ ফীহা- ওয়া হুওয়া মা‘আকুম আইমানা-কুংতুম্‌ ওয়াল্লা-হু বিমা- তা‘মালূনা বাসীর।

তিনিই ছয় দিবসে আকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন; অতঃপর আর্‌শে সমাসীন হইয়াছেন। তিনি জানেন যাহা কিছু ভূমিতে প্রবেশ করে ও যাহা কিছু উহা হইতে বাহির হয় এবং আকাশ হইতে যাহা কিছু নামে ও আকাশে যাহা কিছু উত্থিত হয়। তোমরা যেখানেই থাক না কেন-তিনি তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছেন, তোমরা যাহা কিছু কর আল্লাহ্‌ তাহা দেখেন।

Huwalladhi khalaqas-sama-wati wal-’arda fi Sittati ’Ayyamin thummas-tawa ‘alal-‘Arsh. Ya‘-lamu ma yaliju fil-’ardi wa yakhruju minha wa ma yanzilu minas-sama-’i wa ma ya‘-ruju fiha. Wa Huwa ma‘akum ’ayna-ma kuntum. Wa-LLahu bima ta‘-maluna basir.

He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority). He knows what enters within the earth and what comes forth out of it, what comes down from heaven and what mounts up to it. And He is with you wheresoever you may be. And Allah sees well all that you do.

লাহূ মুল্‌কুছ্ ছামা-ওয়া-তি ওয়াল্‌ আরদি ওয়া ইলাল্লা-হি তুর্‌জা‘উল উমূর।

আকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর সর্বময় কর্তৃত্ব তাঁহারই এবং আল্লাহ্‌রই দিকে সমস্ত বিষয় প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইবে।

Lahu Mulkus-samawati wal-’ard; wa ’ila-LLahi turja-‘ul-’umur.

To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and all affairs are referred back to Allah.

ইঊলিজূল লাইলা ফিন্নাহা-রি ওয়া ইঊলিজূন্নাহা-রা ফিল্লাইলি ওয়া হুওয়া ‘আলীমুম্‌ বিযা-তিস্‌সুদূর।

তিনিই রাত্রিকে প্রবেশ করান দিবসে এবং দিবসকে প্রবেশ করান রাত্রিতে, এবং তিনি অন্তর্যামী।

Yulijul-Layla fin-Nahari wayulijun-Nahara fil-Layl; wa Huwa ‘Alimum-bi-dhatis-sudur.

He merges Night into Day, and He merges Day into Night; and He has Full Knowledge of the secrets of (all) hearts.

আ-মিনূ বিল্লা-হি ওয়া রাছূলিহী ওয়া আংফিকূ মিম্মা- জা‘আলাকুম্‌ মুছ্‌তাখলাফীনা ফীহি ফাল্লাযীনা আ-মানূ মিংকুম্‌ ওয়া আংফাকূ লাহুম্‌ আজরুং কাবীর।

তোমরা আল্লাহ্‌ ও তাঁহার রাসূলের প্রতি ঈমান আন এবং আল্লাহ্‌ তোমাদেরকে যাহা কিছুর উত্তরাধিকারী করিয়াছেন তাহা হইতে ব্যয় কর। তোমাদের মধ্যে যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও ব্যয় করে, তাহাদের জন্য আছে মহাপুরস্কার।

’Aminu bi-LLahi wa Rasulihi wa ’anfiqu mimma ja-‘alakum mustakh-lafina fih. Falladhina ’amanu minkum wa ’anfaqu lahum ’Ajrun-kabir.

Believe in Allah and His messenger, and spend (in charity) out of the (substance) whereof He has made you heirs. For those of you who believe and spend (in charity)- for them is a great reward.

ওয়ামা-লাকুম লা- তু’মিনূনা বিল্লা-হি ওয়ার্‌রাছূলু ইয়াদ‘ঊকুম্‌ লিতু‘মিনূ বিরাব্বিকুম ওয়া কাদ আখাযা মীছা- কাকুম ইং কুংতুম্‌ মু’মিনীন।

তোমাদের কি হইল যে, তোমরা আল্লাহ্‌তে ঈমান আন না? অথচ রাসূল তোমাদেরকে তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের প্রতি ঈমান আনিতে আহ্‌বান করিতেছে এবং আল্লাহ্‌ তোমাদের নিকট হইতে অঙ্গীকার গ্রহণ করিয়াছেন, যদি তোমরা বিশ্বাসী হও।

Wa ma lakum la tu’-minuna bi-LLahi? War-Rasulu yad-‘ukum li-tu’-minu bi-Rabbikum wa qad ’akhadha Mithaqakum ’in-kuntum-Mu’-minin.

What cause have you why you should not believe in Allah? And the Messenger invites you to believe in your Lord, and has indeed taken your Covenant, if you are men of Faith.

হুওয়াল্লাযী ইউনাঝঝিলু ‘আলা-‘আব্‌দিহী-আ-য়া-তিম্‌ বাইয়িনা-তিল লিইউখ্‌রিজাকুম্‌ মিনাজ্জু’লুমা-তি ইলান্‌ নূরি ওয়া ইন্নাল্লা-হা বিকুম্‌ লারাঊফুর রাহীম।

তিনিই তাঁহার বান্দার প্রতি সুস্পষ্ট আয়াত অবতীর্ণ করেন, তোমাদেরকে অন্ধকার হইতে আলোকে আনিবার জন্য। আল্লাহ্‌ তো তোমাদের প্রতি করুণাময়, পরম দয়ালু।

Huwalladhi yunazzilu ‘ala ‘Abdihi ’Ayatim-Bayyina-til-liyukhrijakum-minaz-Zulu-mati ’ilan-Nur. Wa ’inna-LLaha bikum la-Ra-’ufur-Rahim.

He is the One Who sends to His Servant Manifest Signs, that He may lead you from the depths of Darkness into Light and verily Allah is to you Most Kind and Merciful.

ওয়ামা- লাকুম্‌ আল্লা- তুংফিকূ ফী ছাবীলিল্লা-হি ওয়া লিল্লা-হি মীরা-ছু’ছ্‌ ছামা-ওয়া-তি ওয়াল্‌ আর্‌দি লা-ইয়াছতাবী মিংকুম্ মান্‌ আংফাকা মিং কাব্‌লিল্‌ ফাত্‌হি ওয়া কা-তালা উলা-ইকা আ‘জামু দারাজাতাম্‌ মিনাল্লাযীনা আংফাকূ মিম্‌ বা‘দু ওয়া কা-তালূ ওয়া কুল্লাওঁ ওয়া‘আদাল্লা- হুল্‌ ‍হু’ছ্‌না- ওয়াল্লা-হু বিমা- তা‘মালূনা খাবীর।

তোমরা আল্লাহ্‌র পথে কেন ব্যয় করিবে না? আকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর মালিকানা তো আল্লাহ্‌রই। তোমাদের মধ্যে যাহারা মক্কা বিজয়ের পূর্বে ব্যয় করিয়াছে ও যুদ্ধ করিয়াছে, তাহারা এবং পরবর্তীরা সমান নয়। তাহারা মর্যাদায় শ্রেষ্ঠ উহাদের অপেক্ষা, যাহারা পরবর্তী কালে ব্যয় করিয়াছে ও যুদ্ধ করিয়াছে। তবে আল্লাহ্‌ উভয়ের কল্যাণের প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়াছেন। তোমরা যাহা কর আল্লাহ্‌ তাহা সবিশেষ অবহিত।

Wa ma lakum ’alla tun-fiqu fi Sabili-LLahi wa li-LLahi mirathus-samawati wal-’ard. La yastawi minkum-man ’anfaqa min-qablil-Fat-hi wa qatal. ’Ula-’ika ’a‘-zamu dara-jatam-minalldhina ’anfaqu mim-ba‘-du wa qatalu. Wa kullanw-wa-‘ada-LLahul-husna. Wa-LLahu bima ta‘-maluna Khabir.

And what cause have you why you should not spend in the cause of Allah?- For to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and fought, before the Victory, (with those who did so later). Those are higher in rank than those who spent (freely) and fought afterwards. But to all has Allah promised a goodly (reward). And Allah is Well-Acquainted with all that you do.

মান জাল্লাজী ইয়ুক্বরিদ্বুল্লা-হা ক্বারদ্বান হাছানান ফাইয়ুদ্বা-‘ইফাহূ লাহূ ওয়া লাহূ- আজ্বরুন কারীম।

কে আছে যে আল্লাহ্‌কে দিবে উত্তম ঋণ? তাহা হইলে তিনি বহু গুণে ইহাকে বৃদ্ধি করিবেন তাহার জন্য এবং তাহার জন্য রহিয়াছে সম্মানজনক পুরস্কার।

Man-dhalladhi yuqridu-LLaha Qardan-Hasanan fayuda-‘ifahu lahu wa lahu ’ajrun-karim.

Who is he that will Loan to Allah a beautiful loan? for (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit, and he will have (besides) a liberal Reward.

ইয়াওমা তারাল্‌ মু’মিনীনা ওয়াল্‌ মুমিনা-তি ইয়াছ্‌‘আ- নূরুহুম্ বাইনা আইদীহিম্‌ ওয়া বিআইমা-নিহিম্‌ বুশ্‌রা-কুমুল্‌ ইয়াওমা জান্না-তুং তাজরী মিং তাহ’তিহাল্ আন্‌হা-রু খা-লিদীনা ফীহা- যা-লিকা হুওয়াল্‌ ফাওঝুল্‌ ‘আজীম।

সেদিন তুমি দেখিবে মু’মিন নর-নারীগণকে তাহাদের সম্মুখভাগে ও দক্ষিণ পার্শ্বে তাহাদের জ্যোতি ছুটিতে থাকিবে। বলা হইবে, ‘আজ তোমাদের জন্য সুসংবাদ জান্নাতের, যাহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত, সেখানে তোমরা স্থায়ী হইবে, ইহাই মহাসাফল্য।’

Yawma taral-Mu’-minina wal-Mu’-minati yas-‘a Nuruhum-bay-na’aydihim wa bi-’aymanihim. Bushrakumul-Yawma Jannatun-tajri min-tahtihal-’anharu khalidina fiha! Dhalika huwal-Fawzul-‘azim.

One Day shall you see the believing men and the believing women- how their Light runs forward before them and by their right hands: (their greeting will be): “Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which flow rivers! To dwell therein for ever! This is indeed the highest Achievement!”

ইয়াওমা ইয়াকূ’লুল্‌ মুনা-ফিকূ’না ওয়াল মুনা-ফিকা-তু লিল্লাযীনা আ-মানুংজুরূনা- নাক’তাবিছ্‌ মিন্‌ নূরিকুম কীলার্‌জি‘ঊ ওয়া রাআ-কুম্‌ ফাল্‌তামিছূ নূরাং ফাদু’রিবা বাইনাহুম্‌ বিছূরিল্‌ লাহূ বা-ব বা-তি’নুহূ ফীহির্‌ রাহ’মাতু ওয়া জা-হিরুহূ মিং কি’বালিহিল্‌ ‘আযা-ব।

সেদিন মুনাফিক পুরুষ ও মুনাফিক নারীরা মু’মিনদেরকে বলিবে, ‘তোমরা আমাদের জন্য একটু থাম, যাহাতে আমরা তোমাদের জ্যোতির কিছু গ্রহণ করিতে পারি। বলা হইবে, ‘তোমরা তোমাদের পিছনে ফিরিয়া যাও ও আলোর সন্ধান কর।’ অতঃপর উভয়ের মাঝামাঝি স্থাপিত হইবে একটি প্রাচীর যাহাতে একটি দরজা থাকিবে, উহার অভ্যন্তরে থাকিবে রহমত এবং বহির্ভাগে থাকিবে শাস্তি।

Yawma yaqulul-Mu-nafiquna wal-Munafiqatu lil-ladhina ’amanun-zuruna naq-tabis min-Nurikum! Qilar-ju‘u wara-’akum fal-tamisu nura! Faduriba baynahum-bi-suril-lahu bab. Batinuhu fihir-Rahmatu wa zahiruhu min-qibalihil-‘adhab.

One Day will the Hypocrites-men and women- say to the Believers: “Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!” It will be said: “Turn you back to your rear! Then seek a Light (where you can)!” So a wall will be put up betwixt them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, and without it, all alongside, will be (Wrath and) Punsihment!

ইউনা-দূনাহুম্‌ আলাম্‌ নাকুম্‌ মা‘আকুম কা-লূ বালা- ওয়ালা-কিন্নাকুম্‌ ফাতাংতুম্ আংফুছাকুম্‌ ওয়া তারাব্বাসতুম্‌ ওয়ার্‌তাব্‌তুম্‌ ওয়া গাররাত্‌কুমুল্‌ আমা-নিইয়ু হাত্তা-জা-আ আমরুল্লা-হি ওয়া গাররাকুম্‌ বিল্লা-হিল্ গারূর।

মুনাফিকরা ‍মু’মিনদেরকে ডাকিয়া জিজ্ঞাসা করিবে, ‘আমরা কি তোমাদের সঙ্গে ছিলাম না?’ তাহারা বলিবে, ‘হাঁ, কিন্তু তোমরা নিজেরাই নিজেদেরকে বিপদগ্রস্ত করিয়াছ। তোমরা প্রতীক্ষা করিয়াছিলে, সন্দেহ পোষণ করিয়াছিলে এবং অলীক আকাঙ্ক্ষা তোমাদেরকে মোহাচ্ছন্ন করিয়া রাখিয়াছিল, অবশেষে আল্লাহ্‌র হুকুম আসিল। আর মহাপ্রতারক তোমাদেরকে প্রতারিত করিয়াছিল আল্লাহ্‌ সম্পর্কে।’

Yunadunahum ’alam nakum-ma-‘akum? Qalu bala wa lakinnakum fatantum ’anfusakum wa tarabbastum wartabtum wa gharrat-kumul-’amaniyyu hatta ja-’a ’Amru-LLahi wa gharrakum-bi-LLahil-Gharur.

(Those without) will call out, “Were we not with you?” (The others) will reply, “True! but you led yourselves into temptation; you looked forward (to our ruin); you doubted (Allah’s Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you; until there issued the Command of Allah. And the deceiver deceived you in respect of Allah.

ফাল্‌ ইয়াওমা লা-ইউ’খাযু মিংকুম্‌ ফিদ্‌ইয়াতুওঁ ওয়ালা- মিনাল্লাযীনা কাফারূ মা’ওয়া-কুমুন্না-রু হিয়া মাওলা-কুম ওয়াবি’ছাল্‌ মাসীর।

‘আজ তোমাদের নিকট হইতে কোন মুক্তিপণ গ্রহণ করা হইবে না এবং যাহারা কুফরী করিয়াছিল তাহাদের নিকট হইতেও নয়। জাহান্নামই তোমাদের আবাসস্থল, ইহাই তোমাদের যোগ্য; কত নিকৃষ্ট এই পরিণাম!’

Fal-Yawma la yu’-khadhu minkum fidyatunw-wa la minalladhina kafaru. Ma’-wa-kumun-Nar, hiya mawlakum; wa bi’-sal-Masir.

“This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejected Allah.” Your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and an evil refuge it is!”

আলাম্‌ ইয়া’নি লিল্লাযীনা আ-মানূ- আং তাখ্‌শা‘আ কু’লূবুহুম্‌ লিযি’ক্‌রিল্লা-হি ওয়ামা-নাঝালা মিনাল্‌ হাক্কি ওয়ালা- ইয়াকূনূ কাল্লাযীনা ঊতুল্‌ কিতা-বা মিং কাবলু ফাতা-লা ‘আলাইহিমুল্‌ আমাদু ফাকাছাত্‌ কু’লূবুহুম ওয়া কাছীরুম্ মিন্‌হুম্‌ ফা-ছিকূ’ন।

যাহারা ঈমান আনে তাহাদের হৃদয় ভক্তি-বিগলিত হইবার সময় কি আসে নাই, আল্লাহ্‌র স্মরণে এবং যে সত্য অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছে তাহাতে? এবং পূর্বে যাহাদেরকে কিতাব দেওয়া হইয়াছিল তাহাদের মত যেন উহারা না হয়-বহু কাল অতিক্রান্ত হইয়া গেলে যাহাদের অন্তকরণ কঠিন হইয়া পড়িয়াছিল। উহাদের অধিকাংশই সত্যত্যাগী।

’Alam ya’-ni lilladhina ’a-manu ’an-takh-sha-‘a qulu-buhum lidhikri-LLahi wa ma nazala minal-Haqqi wa la yakunu kalladhina ’utul-Kitaba min-qablu fatala ‘alay-himul-’amadu faqasat qulubuhum; Wa kathiru-minhum fasiqun.

Has not the time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors.

ই‘লামূ- আন্নাল্লা-হা ইউহ’য়িল্‌ আর্‌দা বা‘দা মাওতিহা- কাদ্‌ বাইয়ান্না- লাকুমুল আ-য়া-তি লা‘আল্লাকুম্‌ তা‘কি’লূন।

জানিয়া রাখ, আল্লাহ্‌ই ধরিত্রীকে উহার মৃত্যুর পর পুনর্জীবিত করেন। আমি নিদর্শনগুলি তোমাদের জন্য বিশদভাবে ব্যক্ত করিয়াছি যাহাতে তোমরা বুঝিতে পার।

’I‘-lamu ’anna-LLaha yuhyil-’arda ba‘-da mawtiha! Qad bayyanna lakumul-’A-yati la-‘allakum ta‘-qilun.

Know you (all) that Allah gives life to the earth after its death! Already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that you may learn wisdom.

ইন্নাল্‌ মুসসাদ্দিকীনা ওয়াল্‌ ‍মুসসাদ্দিকা-তি ওয়া আক’রাদু’ল্লা-হা কারদান্‌ হাছানাইঁ ইউদা-‘আফু লাহুম্‌ ওয়া লাহুম্‌ আজরুং কারীম।

দানশীল পুরুষগণ ও দানশীল নারীগণ এবং যাহারা আল্লাহ্‌কে উত্তম ঋণ দান করে তাহাদেরকে দেওয়া হইবে বহু গুণ বেশি এবং তাহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে সম্মানজনক পুরস্কার।

’Innal-Mussaddiqina wal-Mussaddqati wa ’aqradu-LLaha Qardanhasan-yuda-‘afu lahum wa lahum ’ajrun-karim.

For those who give in Charity, men and women, and load to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.

ওয়াল্লাযীনা আ-মানূ বিল্লা-হি ওয়া রুছুলিহী- উলা-ইকা হুমুস্‌সিদ্দীকূ’না ওয়াশ্‌শুহাদা-উ ‘ইংদা রাব্বিহিম লাহুম্‌ আজরুহুম্‌ ওয়া নূরুহুম ওয়াল্লাযীনা কাফারূ ওয়াকায্‌’যাবূ বিআ-য়া-তিনা- উলা-ইকা আসহা-বুল জাহীম।

যাহারা আল্লাহ্‌ ও তাঁহার রাসূলে ঈমান আনে, তাহারাই তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট সিদ্দীক ও শহীদ। তাহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে তাহাদের প্রাপ্য পুরস্কার ও জ্যোতি এবং যাহারা কুফরী করিয়াছে ও আমার নিদর্শন অস্বীকার করিয়াছে, উহারাই জাহান্নামের অধিবাসী।

Walladhina ’amanu bi-LLahi wa rusulihi ’ula-’ika humus-Siddiquna wash-Shuhada-’u ‘inda Rabbihim; lahum ’Ajruhum wa Nuru-hum. Walladhina kafaru wa kadh-dhabu bi-’Ayatina ’ula-’ika ’Ashabul-Jahim.

And those who believe in Allah and His messengers- they are Sincere (lovers of Truth), and the witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their Lord: They shall their Reward and their Light. But those who reject Allah and deny Our Signs,- they are the Companions of Jahannam-Fire.

ই‘লামূ- আন্নামাল্‌ হায়া-তুদ্দুনইয়া- লা‘ইবুওঁ ওয়ালাহ্‌উওঁ ওয়া ঝীনাতুওঁ ওয়া তাফা-খুরুম্‌ বাইনাকুম ওয়া তাকা-ছু’রুং ফিল্‌ আম্‌ওয়া-লি ওয়াল্‌আওলা-দা কামাছালি গাইছি’ন্‌ আ‘জাবাল্‌ কুফ্‌ফা-রা নাবাতুহূ ছু’ম্মা ইয়াহীজু ফাতারা-হু মুসফাররাং ছু’ম্মা ইয়াকূনু হুতা-মাও ওয়া ফিল্‌ আ-খিরাতি ‘আযা-বুং শাদীদুওঁ ওয়া মাগফিরাতুম্‌ মিনাল্লা-হি ওয়া রিদ’ওয়ানুওঁ ওয়ামাল হায়া-তুদ্দুন্‌ইয়া-ইল্লা মাতা-‘উল্ গুরূর।

তোমরা জানিয়া রাখ, পার্থিব জীবন তো ক্রীড়া-কৌতুক, জাঁকজমক, পারস্পরিক শ্লাঘা, ধন-সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততিতে প্রাচুর্য লাভের প্রতিযোগিতা ব্যতীত আর কিছু নয়। উহার উপমা বৃষ্টি, যদ্দ্বারা উৎপন্ন শস্য-সম্ভার কৃষকদেরকে চমৎকৃত করে, অতঃপর উহা শুকাইয়া যায়, ফলে তুমি উহা পীতবর্ণ দেখিতে পাও, অবশেষে উহা খড়-কুটায় পরিণত হয়। পরকালে রহিয়াছে কঠিন শাস্তি এবং আল্লাহ্‌র ক্ষমা ও সন্তুষ্টি। পার্থিব জীবন প্রতারণার সামগ্রী ব্যতীত কিছুই নয়।

’I‘-lamu ’annamal-hayatud-dunya la-‘ibunw-wa lah-wunw-wazinatunw-wa tafa-khurum-baynakum wa takhathurun-fil-’amwali wal-’awlad; Kamathali ghaythin ’a‘-jabal-kuf-fara nabutuhu thumma yahiju fatarahu musfarran-thumma yakunu hutama. Wa fil-’Akhirati ‘Adhabun-shadidunw-wa Maghfiratum-mina-LLahi wa Ridwan. Wa mal-hayatud-dunya ’illa mata-‘ul-ghurur.

Know you (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; you will see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?

ছা-বিকূ -ইলা- মাগ্‌ফিরাতিম্‌ মির্‌ রাব্বিকুম্‌ ওয়া জান্নাতিন্‌ ‘আরদু’হা- কা‘আরদিছ ছামা-ই ওয়াল্‌ আর্‌দি উ‘ইদ্দাত্‌ লিল্লাযীনা আ-মানূ বিল্লা-হি ওয়া রুছুলিহী যা-লিকা ফাদ’লুল্লা-হি ইউ’তীহি মাইঁ ইয়াশা-উ ওয়াল্লা-হু যু’ল্‌ ফাদ’লিল্‌ ‘আজীম।

তোমরা অগ্রণী হও তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের ক্ষমা ও সেই জান্নাত লাভের প্রয়াসে যাহা প্রশস্ততায় আকাশ ও পৃথিবীর মত, যাহা প্রস্তুত করা হইয়াছে তাহাদের জন্য যাহারা আল্লাহ্‌ ও তাঁহার রাসূলগণে ঈমান আনে। ইহা আল্লাহ্‌র অনুগ্রহ, যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তিনি ইহা দান করেন; আল্লাহ্‌ মহাঅনুগ্রহশীল।

Sabiqu ’ila Maghfiratim-mir-Rabbikum- wa Jannatin ‘arduha ka-‘ardis-sama-’i wal-’ardi ’u-‘iddat lilladhina ’amanu bi-LLahi wa rusulih; dhalika fadlu-LLahi yu’-tihi many-yasha’; wa-LLahu Dhul-Fadlil-‘Azim.

Be you foremost (in seeking) Forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden (of Bliss), the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers; that is the Grace of Allah, which He bestows on whom he pleases: and Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding.

মা- আসা-বা মিমমুসীবাতিং ফিল্‌ আর্‌দি ওয়ালা- ফী-আংফুছিকুম ইল্লা- ফী কিতা-বিম্‌ মিং কাব্‌লি আন্‌নাব্‌রাআহা- ইন্না যা-লিকা ‘আলাল্লা-হি ইয়াছীর।

পৃথিবীতে অথবা ব্যক্তিগতভাবে তোমাদের উপর যে বিপর্যয় আসে আমি উহা সংঘটিত করিবার পূর্বেই উহা লিপিবদ্ধ থাকে; আল্লাহ্‌র পক্ষে ইহা খুবই সহজ।

Ma ’asaba mim-musibatinfil-’ardi wa la fi ’anfusikum ’illa fi kitabim-min qabli ’an-nabra-’aha; ’inna dhalika ‘ala-LLahi yasir.

No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decrees before We bring it into existence: That is truly easy for Allah:

লিকাইলা- তা’ছাও ‘আলা- মা-ফা-তাকুম্‌ ওয়ালা- তাফ্‌রাহূ বিমা- আ-তা-কুম ওয়াল্লা-হু লা-ইউহি’ব্বু কুল্লা মুখ্‌তা-লিং ফাখূর।

ইহা এইজন্য যে, তোমরা যাহা হারাইয়াছ তাহাতে যেন তোমরা বিমর্ষ না হও, এবং যাহা তিনি তোমাদেরকে দিয়াছেন তাহার জন্য হর্ষোৎফুল্ল না হও। আল্লাহ্‌ পসন্দ করেন না উদ্ধত ও অহংকারীদেরকে-

Li-kay la ta’-saw ‘ala ma fatakum wa la tafrahu bima ’atakum. Wa-LLahu la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin-fakhur.

In order that you may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For Allah doest not love any vainglorious boaster,-

আল্লাযীনা ইয়াব্‌খালূনা ওয়া ইয়া’মুরূনান্না-ছা বিল্‌বু্খ্‌লি ওয়া মাইঁ ইয়াতাওয়াল্লা ফাইন্নাল্লা-হা হুওয়াল গানিইয়ূল হামীদ।

যাহারা কার্পণ্য করে ও মানুষকে কার্পণ্যের নির্দেশ দেয় এবং যে মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয় সে জানিয়া রাখুক আল্লাহ্‌ তো অভাবমুক্ত, প্রশংসার্হ।

’Alladhina yab-khaluna wa ya’-murunannasa bil-bukhl. Wa many-yatawalla fa-’inna-LLaha Huwal-Ghaniyyul-Hamid.

Such persons as are covetous and commend covetousness to men. And if any turn back (from Allah’s Way), verily Allah is Free of all Needs, Worthy of all Praise.

লাকাদ আরছালনা- রুছুলানা- বিলবাইয়িনা-তি ওয়া আংঝাল্‌না-মা‘আহুমুল্‌ কিতা-বা ওয়াল মীঝা-না লিইয়াকূ’মান্না-ছু বিল্‌কি’ছতি ওয়া আংঝালনাল হাদীদা ফীহি বা’ছুং শাদীদুওঁ ওয়া মানা-ফি‘উ লিন্না-ছি ওয়া লিইয়া‘লামাল্লা-হু মাইঁ ইয়াংসুরুহূ ওযা রুছুলাহূ বিল্‌গাইবি ইন্নাল্লা-হা কাবি’ইয়ুন ‘আঝীঝ।

নিশ্চয়ই আমি আমার রাসূলগণকে প্রেরণ করিয়াছি স্পষ্ট প্রমাণসহ এবং তাহাদের সঙ্গে দিয়াছি কিতাব ও ন্যায়নীতি, যাহাতে মানুষ সুবিচার প্রতিষ্ঠা করে। আমি লৌহও দিয়াছি যাহাতে রহিয়াছে প্রচন্ড শক্তি ও রহিয়াছে মানুষের জন্য বহুবিধ কল্যাণ। ইহা এইজন্য যে, আল্লাহ্‌ প্রকাশ করিয়া দেন কে প্রত্যক্ষ না করিয়াও তাঁহাকে ও তাঁহার রাসূলগণকে সাহায্য করে। অবশ্যই আল্লাহ্‌ শক্তিমান, পরাক্রমশালী।

Laqad ’arsalna rusulana bil-Bayyinati wa ’anzalna ma-‘ahumul-Kitaba wal-Mizana liyaquman-nasu bil-qist; wa ’anzalnal-HADIDA fihi ba’-sun-shadidunw-wa manafi- ‘ulinnasi wa liya‘lama-LLahu many-yansuruhu wa rusulahu bil-Ghayb; ’inna-LLaha Qawiyyun ‘Aziz.

We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will).

ওয়া লাকাদ্‌ আরছাল্‌না- নূহাও ওয়া ইবরা-হীমা ওয়া জা‘আলনা- ফী যু’ররিইইয়াতিহিমাং নুবুওয়াতা ওয়াল্‌ কিতা-বা ফামিন্‌হুম মুহ্‌তাদিও ওয়া কাছীরুম মিন্‌হুম্‌ ফা-ছিকূ’ন।

আমি নূহ্‌ এবং ইব্‌রাহীমকে রাসূলরূপে প্রেরণ করিয়াছিলাম এবং আমি তাহাদের বংশধরগণের জন্য স্থির করিয়াছিলাম নবুওয়াত ও কিতাব, কিন্তু উহাদের অল্পই সৎপথ অবলম্বন করিয়াছিল এবং অধিকাংশই ছিল সত্যত্যাগী।

laqad ’arsalna Nuhanw-wa ’Ibrahima wa ja-‘alna fi dhurriyya-tihiman-Nubuwwata wal-Kitaba fa-minhum-muhtad-, wa kathirum-minhum fasiqun.

And We sent Nuh and Ibrahim, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them were on right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors.

ছু’ম্মা কাফ্‌ফাইনা- ‘আলা-আ-ছা-রিহিম বিরুছুলিনা- ওয়া কাফ্‌ফাইনা- বি‘ঈছাব্‌নি মারইয়ামা ওয়া আ-তাইনা-হুল ইংজীলা ওয়া জা‘আল্‌না-ফী কু’লূবিল্লাযীনাত্তাবা‘ঊহু রা’ফাতাওঁ ওয়া রাহ’মাতাও ওয়া রাহ্‌বা-নিইয়াতানিব্‌ তাদা‘ঊহা- মা- কাতাব্‌না-হা- ‘আলাইহিম ইল্লাব্‌তিগা-আ রিদ’ওয়া-নিল্লা-হি ফামা-রা‘আওহা- হাক্কা রি‘আ- ইয়াতিহা- ফাআ-তাইনাল্লাযীনা আ-মানূ মিন্‌হুম্‌ আজরাহুম্‌ ওয়া কাছীরুম্‌ মিন্‌হুম্‌ ফা-ছিকূ’ন।

অতঃপর আমি তাহাদের পশ্চাতে অনুগামী করিয়াছিলাম আমার রাসূলগণকে এবং অনুগামী করিয়াছিলাম মার্ইয়াম-তনয় ঈসাকে, আর তাহাকে দিয়াছিলাম ইঞ্জীল এবং তাহার অনুসারীদের অন্তরে দিয়াছিলাম করুণা ও দয়া। আর সন্ন্যাসবাদ-ইহা তো উহারা নিজেরাই আল্লাহ্‌র সন্তুষ্টি লাভের জন্য প্রবর্তন করিয়াছিল। আমি উহাদেরকে ইহার বিধান দেই নাই; অথচ ইহাও উহারা যথাযথভাবে পালন করে নাই। উহাদের মধ্যে যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছিল, উহাদেরকে আমি দিয়াছিলাম পুরস্কার এবং উহাদের অধিকাংশই সত্যত্যাগী।

Thumma qaffay-na ‘ala ’atharihim-bi-rusulina wa qaffay-na bi-‘Isabni-Maryama wa ’atay-na-hul-’Injil; wa ja-‘alna fi qulubil-ladhinat-taba‘uhu Ra’-fatanw-wa Rahmah. Wa Rahbaniyyata-nibtada-‘uha ma katabnaha ‘alayhim ’illabtigha-’a Ridwani-LLahi fama ra-‘awha haqqa ri-‘ayatiha. Fa’atay-nalladhina ’amanminhum ’ajrahum, wa kathirum-minhum fasiqun.

Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them ‘Isa the son of Maryam, and bestowed on him the Injil; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors.

ইয়া আইয়ুহাল্লাযীনা আ-মানুত্তাকু’ল্লা-হা ওয়া আ-মিনূ বিরাছুলিহী ইউ’তিকুম্‌ কিফলাইনি মির্‌ রাহ’মাতিহী ওয়া ইয়াজ‘আল্লাকুম্ নূরাং তামশূনা বিহী ওয়া ইয়াগফির্‌ লাকুম ওয়াল্লা-হু গাফূরুর রাহীম।

হে মু’মিনগণ! আল্লাহ্‌কে ভয় কর এবং তাঁহার রাসূলের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কর। তিনি তাঁহার অনুগ্রহে তোমাদেরকে দিবেন দ্বিগুণ পুরস্কার এবং তিনি তোমাদেরকে দিবেন আলো, যাহার সাহায্যে তোমরা চলিবে এবং তিনি তোমাদেরকে ক্ষমা করিবেন; আল্লাহ্‌ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

Ya-’ayyuhalladhina ’amanuttaqu-LLaha wa ’aminu bi-Rasulihi yu’-tikum kif-layni mir-Rahmatihi wa yaj‘al-lakum Nuran-tamshuna bihi yaghfir lakum; wa-LLahu Ghafurur-Rahim.

O you that believe! Fear Allah, and believe in His Messenger, and He will bestow on you a double portion of His Mercy: He will provide for you a Light by which you shall walk (straight in your path), and He will forgive you (your past): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

লিয়াল্লা- ইয়া‘লামা আহ্‌লুল কিতা-বি আল্লা- ইয়াক’দিরূনা ‘আলা- শাইয়িম্‌ মিং ফাদলিল্লা-হি ওয়া আন্নাল্‌ ফাদ’লা বিয়াদিল্লা-হি ইউ’তীহি মাইঁ ইয়াশা-উ ওয়াল্লা-হু যু’ল্‌ ফাদ’লিল্‌ ‘আজীম।

ইহা এইজন্য যে, কিতাবীগণ যেন জানিতে পারে, আল্লাহ্র সামান্যতম অনুগ্রহের উপরও উহাদের কোন অধিকার নাই। অনুগ্রহ আল্লাহ্‌রই ইখ্‌তিয়ারে, যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তাহাতে তিনি তাহা দান করেন। আল্লাহ্‌ মহাঅনুগ্রহশীল।

Li-’alla y‘-lama ’ahlul-Kitabi ’alla yaqdiruna ‘ala shay-’im-min-fadli-LLahi wa ’annal-Fadla bi-yadi-LLahi yu’-tihi many-yasha’. Wa-LLahu Dhul-Fadlil-‘Azim.

That the People of the Book may know that they have no power whatever over the Grace of Allah, that (His) Grace is (entirely) in His Hand, to bestow it on whomsoever He wills. For Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding.
