Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. He said: “If you ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise! (11:38)
“But soon will you know who it is on whom will descend a penalty that will cover them with shame, on whom will be unloosed a penalty lasting:” (11:39)
At length, behold! There came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: “Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family- except those against whom the word has already gone forth, and the Believers.” But only a few believed with him. (11:40)
So he said: “Embark you on the Ark, In the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!” (11:41)
So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, and Nuh called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): “O my son! Embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!” (11:42)
The son replied: “I will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water.” Nuh said: “This day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom He has mercy!” And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood. (11:43)
Then the word went forth: “O earth! Swallow up your water, and O sky! Withhold (your rain)!” and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and the word went forth: “Away with those who do wrong!” (11:44)
And Nuh called upon his Lord, and said: “O my Lord! Surely my son is of my family! And Your promise is true, and You are the justest of Judges!” (11:45)
(Remember) Nuh, when he cried (to Us) aforetime: We listened to his (prayer) and delivered him and his family from great distress. (21:76)
We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. (21:77)
And some said): “He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time.” (23:25)
(Nuh) said: “O my Lord! Help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!” (23:26)
So We inspired him (with this message): “Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take you on board pairs of every species, male and female, and your family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). (23:27)
And when you have embarked on the Ark- you and those with you- say: “Praise be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong.” (23:28)
And say: “O my Lord! Enable me to disembark with your blessing: for You are the Best to enable (us) to disembark.” (23:29)
Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (thus) do We try (men). (23:30)
The people of Nuh rejected the messengers. (26:105)
Behold, their brother Nuh said to them: “Will you not fear (Allah)? (26:106)
“I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: (26:107)
“So fear Allah, and obey me. (26:108)
“No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds: (26:109)
“So fear Allah, and obey me.” (26:110)
They said: “Shall we believe in you when it is the meanest that follow you?” (26:111)
He said: “And what do I know as to what they do? (26:112)
“Their account is only with my Lord, if you could (but) understand. (26:113)
“I am not one to drive away those who believe. (26:114)
“I am sent only to warn plainly in public.” (26:115)
They said: “If you desist not, O Nuh! You shall be stoned (to death).” (26:116)
He said: “O my Lord! Truly my people have rejected me. (26:117)
“Judge You, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me.” (26:118)
So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures). (26:119)
Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind. (26:120)
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. (26:121)
And verily your Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. (26:122)
