“Such as took their religion to be more amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world.” That day shall We forget them as they forget the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they were wont to reject Our signs. (7:51)
For We had certainly sent to them a Book, based on knowledge, which We explained in detail, a guide and mercy to all who believe. (7:52)
Do they just wait for the final fulfillment of the event? On the day the event is finally fulfilled, those who disregarded it before will say: “The Messengers of our Lord did indeed bring true (tidings). Have we no intercessors now to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back? Then should we behave differently from our behavior in the past.” In fact they will have lost their souls, and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch. (7:53)
Those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present, and those who heed not Our Signs, (10:7)
Their abode is the Fire, because of the (evil) they earned. (10:8)
If Allah were to hasten for men the ill (they have earned) as they would fain hasten on the good, then would their respite be settled at once. But We leave those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, in their trespasses, wandering in distraction to and fro. (10:11)
When trouble toucheth a man, He crieth to Us (in all postures)- lying down on his side, or sitting, or standing. But when We have solved his trouble, he passeth on his way as if he had never cried to Us for a trouble that touched him! Thus do the deeds of transgressors seem fair in their eyes! (10:12)
Generations before you?e destroyed when they did wrong: their messengers came to them with clear-signs, but they would not believe! Thus do We requite those who sin! (10:13)
The likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth which provides food for men and animals: (It grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think they have all powers of disposal over it: There reaches it Our command by night or by day, and We make it like a harvest clean-mown, as if it had not flourished only the day before! Thus do We explain the Signs in detail for those who reflect. (10:24)
Those who desire the life of the present and its glitter, to them we shall pay (the price of) their deeds therein, without diminution. (11:15)
They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire: vain are designs they frame therein, and of no effect and the deeds that they do! (11:16)
Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself does teach, as did the Book of Musa before it, a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it, the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from your Lord: yet many among men do not believe! (11:17)
Who does more wrong than those who invent a life against Allah? They will be turned back to the presence of their Lord, and the witnesses will say, “These are the ones who lied against their Lord! Behold! The Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong! (11:18)
Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to Allah’s will) in Islam. (15:2)
Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). (15:3)
And were it not that (all) men might become of one (evil) way of life, We would provide, for everyone that blasphemes against (Allah) Most Gracious, silver roofs for their houses and (silver) stair-ways on which to go up, (43:33)
And (silver) doors to their houses, and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline, (43:34)
And also adornments of gold. But all this were nothing but conveniences of the presents life: the Hereafter, in the sight of your Lord is for the Righteous. (43:35)
“This, because you used to take the Signs of Allah in jest, and the life of the world deceived you:” (From) that Day, therefore, they shall not be taken out thence, nor shall they be received into grace. (45:35)
And to all are (assigned) degrees according to the deeds which they (have done), and in order that (Allah) may recompense their deeds, and no injustice be done to them. (46:19)
And one the Day that the Unbelievers will be placed before the Fire, (It will be said to them): “You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure out of them: but today shall you be recompensed with a Penalty of humiliation: for that you were arrogant on earth without just cause, and that you (ever) transgressed.” (46:20)
(Those without) will call out, “Were we not with you?” (The others) will reply, “True! but you led yourselves into temptation; you looked forward (to our ruin); you doubted (Allah’s Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you; until there issued the Command of Allah. And the deceiver deceived you in respect of Allah. (57:14)
Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds, (79:37)
And had preferred the life of this world, (79:38)
The Abode will be Jahannam-Fire; (79:39)
The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), (102:1)
Until you visit the graves. (102:2)
